PORTRAITS IN POETRY

The Archangel Has Fallen

crystal rains,
silent songs
an angel's breath.....
sweet fragrant memories,
amazing zeal
fragments of the past,
compassion,
and courage
the fire of grace
danger of the unknown
stepping inside a war zone
never to return
a young life cut short
snuffed out...
a body torn to pieces
hit directly
by the renegade grenade
what for, I ask...
it's not simply a task..
can anybody tell me why..
questions in marks
no one..but no one
can tell me why.....

the archangel has fallen
the sea has lost its seal
today the sky has no sparkle
the stars refuse to share their light
but the world still turns
and people will never really learn
history is bound to be repetitive
then all is forgotten
what was is what is...

the war cry has sounded
the wing of the angel hounded
his mellow heart wounded
in his flight ,he is grounded

goodbye archangel of our times
know that love in these rhymes
commemorates the bells in their chimes
when they lay you down to rest,
you sleep eternally in your best..

I shed a tear for you today
not knowing who you were..
we have met ,not in this lifetime
but somewhere in the metaphysical
world of spirits
far, far away where none can hurt us
I dream to see your smiling face again...

NO BITTER GOODBYES

I will face the sun

Without pretense

Like champagne

 without bubbles

Life goes on…..

Without your presence

Nothing has died

But the ache inside

Continues to rise

Like titanic waves

In a mesmerizing sea

I walk the beach of love

Confused and helpless

Not knowing where to

Turn to

Or who to talk to

To fill my time

To answer this need

Within that can not

Be denied of its

Rightful answers

To unanswered question

Quiet suppositions

Inveigled with restless,

Unfounded accusations

What is the truth?

I may never know…

Sprinkled with doubts

Words come flying

Here and there

It is no way to end

to say farewell

it is not nearer any

favored solutions

to clear the whys

or hows…..

have I loved too much?

affection shuns the clean-cut

road to light

have I said too much?

semantics forming mud

the route to nowhere

careening like a car crash

waiting to unfold

and so things happened

and so they can’t be undone

like a tragedy that moves,

embellished with lonely

tears of sorrow

I have lost again

In the arena called

“The game of love”

Wandering endlessly

And weeping aimlessly

Inside this heart

That never seems to learn

Yet never ceases to amaze

There is no regret though

And there never will be

For in you I’ ve seen the eye

Of a thousand mornings

And in you I ‘ve dreamt

the fantasies of a thousand passions

streetlights burst in cosmic rays

of a million rainbow colors

through the timber of your

gentle voice

a hurricane of emotions

with a single touch

of your hand….

There was magic

In you and I……

The fragrance of a thousand

Roses

In the breath of your sigh

Now I stand alone

In this cross road of future highs

Without a trace of hesitation

I am no longer upset

Nor will I ever  forget

The day that I first met you…

There will be only smiles

As I remember each minute

Of happy moment

In the end

There will be no bitter goodbyes

I will say no bitter goodbyes

And I shall end all bitter goodbyes

With a breath

Of your sigh

I will fly…

The great big beautiful

Blue cloudy sky!

Winter Angel

The music drifted,
Then, faded
When I saw your eyes
There, I dreamed of paradise
You asked me to bring you
To my exotic land,
So with pleasure
I take your hand

Here in summer’s kingdom
Will we be,
You my angel
Flying free,
Like a bird that hurls
Its spirit in the sky
You spread your wings
And take me yonder, high

Tender did the moments
Travel by
Tender still the touch
That rested on my cheek
Warm and soft like
The tropical rain
Your voice I hear
And nothing I fear

Angel with the golden hair
From a land of winters
And midnight sun,
Kissed with the morning mist
Of sweet dewdrops
You come to me
One balmy moonlit night

Never again, will I be lonely
never in tears but joyous only
for you are the words in this poetry
you make me smile in wondrous revelry
